A flyer template which is 148mm x 210mm in size is called A5 flyer template. If we convert it into inches then it will become 5.82 Inches x 8.26 Inches in size. You might have noticed that this flyer template size is noticeably smaller when compared to the regular flyers available in the market. This should not be considered as a disadvantage. It is very unlikely for a flyer template to adversely affect its marketing material due to its smaller size until unless it is too small. An A5 flyer template cannot be considered too small. If it is spread via hand to hand marketing method then I am pretty sure an A5 flyer can sufficiently serve its marketing purposes.
On the other hand, let us see what other benefits we can get from an A5 flyer.
1. Low Paper Consumption: And A5 flyer template is very economical when compared to other flyer sizes. It will consume less paper due to which the paper cost will be low.
2. Less Flyer Printing Cost: An A5 flyer template has smaller surface area due to which the printing machine will consume less ink. Ultimately this will result in less printing costs.
3. Better Flyer Hand Grip: If your targeting a person to person or hand to hand marketing campaign then and A5 flyer is a better choice when compared to A4 flyers.
4. Better Marketing Exposure: An A5 flyer is half of the size of an A4 flyer which means if you have set your budget for A4 flyer and it was for 10,000 flyers accommodating 10,000 people then using A5 flyer will give you double flyers which means 20,000 flyers accommodating 20,000 people in almost same cost resulting in better marketing exposure.
5. Better Flyer Quality: Cost of A5 flyer printing is considerabley lower than A4 or other flyers therefore you have margin to improve your paper and printing quality. An A5 flyer printed on a better paper in batter quality will put a much better impression than a low quality poorly printed on poor paper flyer. It will show more professionalism.

A black and white printer will do the job as well but I doubt that it will look good unless you have designed it for monochrome display. By printing the flyer template via your printer will give you the idea of how the flyer will look like after professional printing.
